Alex has been part
of the photographic community in Connecticut For more than 25 years.
As a native of Fairfield County he has contibuted to numerous publications
and photo agencies. Through an intership in New York, Alex worked
long hours to become a master black and white printer, but found his
eye was better suited to creating the image on film rather than in
a darkroom. Alex then turned his focus to photojournalism, capturing
the details of the life and times around him. Working with newspapers,
magazines and The Associated Press, Alex has crafted many award winning
photographs, and in 2003 earned the New England Press Association's
Newspaper photographer of the year award for his work with The Hour
Publishing Co weekly newspapers. Alex's documentary photographs for
the newspapers provide the thread that pulls the fabric of the towns
he covers together, and offers readers a momenatary glimpse into the
lives around them. Alex believes that its really the people in front
of the lens that construct the picture, his eye simply collects the
perfect moment in a frame with a snap of the shutter.
